VALE DA ESTRELA MATURED CHEESE AWARDED IN THE WORLD CHEESE AWARDS

Vale da Estrela Dairy submitted its Serra da Estrela Mature PDO Cheese to the evaluation of the World Cheese Awards jury, with the aim of raising international awareness of a less well-known product, having been awarded the bronze medal, making it one of the 13 Portuguese cheeses to be recognized among the best in the world.

This distinction awarded to Vale da Estrela Mature PDO Cheese comes after the award attributed in 2019, in Paris, where, for the first time, a Serra da Estrela Mature PDO cheese was distinguished at the Mondial du Fromage, one of the most renowned international competitions, alongside the World Cheese Awards, revealing the excellence of a cheese produced by hand and with an average aging period of 6 months.
