The beautiful Beira Alta House in Oporto hosted, this Saturday, a lunch where the Vale da Estrela PDO cheese and cottage cheese was tasted.

The hall was completely full of Beira residents in the Oporto region and Beira Alta House had the opportunity to let everyone taste with the extraordinary quality of the cottage cheese and PDO Vale da Estrela cheese, as well as hear from its manager, Jorge Coelho, the story of PDO cheese and the cheese dairy that produces it in Mangualde.

The hostess, the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Isabel Damião, was extraordinarily sympathetic.

She is from Beira, from Trancoso, a big fan of cheese and received a gift from Vale da Estrela Dairy, a replica of the church of Sto. António dos Cabaços, located near the Dairy and which is the patron saint of shepherds.

The opportunity also served for the reunion and a journey of Beira conviviality.

The Casa da Beira Alta is the embassy, in Oporto, of people that came from Beira.
It was founded 58 years ago and is situated at Rua de Santa Catarina.
