VALE DA ESTRELA AMBITION IS TO BE THE SOUL OF THE TRUE SERRA DA ESTRELA

In a message sent today, Jorge Coelho says that Vale da Estrela Dairy “has the ambition to be the soul of the true Serra da Estrela” and that he wants to “preserve the best and enormous potential this region of the interior has, thus also contributing to its development”

Jorge Coelho adds that this project embodies “the dream of continuing a family tradition, returning to my origins and, finally, I am achieving that goal.”

The main task and responsibility is “to produce a genuine Serra da Estrela cheese, 100% natural, 100% PDO. It is the Vale da Estrela PDO cheese, produced from the milk of more than 2500 sheep of the Bordaleira of Serra da Estrela breed, fed exclusively on pastures in the Serra da Estrela Demarcated Region, and treated with care by dedicated shepherds to whom I pay my tribute.”

Vale da Estrela Dairy, in Mangualde, started this month the production of Serra da Estrela PDO Cheese, Serra da Estrela Mature PDO Cheese and Serra da Estrela Cottage PDO Cheese.
