THE CONTINUITY OF THE LEGACY BY COELHO FAMILY

The idea of creating a Dairy in Mangualde, was born from the ambition of restoring a family tradition that originated in Grandfather Raul, with whom the grandson, Jorge, used to visit the trade fairs of the region, and to travel to Lisbon to trade the regional products where cheese was the most important item, and at the same time the will to do something for its native region and its inhabitants.

With a professional path dedicated mainly to the public cause, he expressed his worries on the social inequality and inland development and being Mangualde one of his top priorities, he decided to put his ideals into practice and create the first PDO Daily in Portugal, a project dear to his heart and to which he dedicated all his efforts.

In this journey, he shared unique memories, stories of ancient times and friendships that were consolidated in these recent years through Vale da Estrela Dairy, always respecting the community.

For the mission it represents, VALE da ESTRELA Dairy is a project that Coelho Family will continue, putting our best efforts into it, together with our staff and partners, which have support us through these years; we are committed to this life project, that unite us as a family, in honor of our patriarch who has done everything to promote the region where he was born.

At this painful occasion, we would like to thank the hundreds of solidary demonstrations that have been sent to us, all of them testifying the admiration for a good man and a citizen socially committed to his country and his native region.
