CHEESEMAKERS SCHOOL – TRAINING STARTS IN OCTOBER AT THE VISEU AND CASTELO BRANCO AGRICULTURAL SCHOOL
Within the scope of the Program to promote the Cheeses of the Central Region of Portugal, a school for cheesemakers will open in Viseu and Castelo Branco.
The project is an integral part of the Region’s Cheese Enhancement Program and has as a partner, in the Serra da Estrela Region, the Agricultural School of Viseu (ESAV).
The initiative aims to create new entrepreneurs for the PDO Cheese sector in the Central Region, seeking to rejuvenate the art of making cheese, in a traditional and artisanal way, thus maintaining a centuries-old tradition of this region, and follows on from the School of Shepherds, which was quite popular.
The training will have a theoretical and practical component, on the cheese production process and the importance of the origin of milk from our breeds in our region and in Serra da Estrela.
The initiative starts on the 26th of October, although the application period ends on the 2nd of October.
