Members of the Centro Nacional de Cultura visited Vale da Estrela Dairy this weekend as part of a trip they made to the municipality of Mangualde.

The CNC delegation was made up of more than two dozen people. The president of the CNC, Maria Calado and Guilherme d’Oliveira Martins, member of the Board of the CNC, were present.

During the visit, the artisanal production method of Serra da Estrela cheese was introduced. Guilherme d’Oliveira Martins made a brief intervention revealing some data he collected about the history, culture and literature associated with cheese.

The Mayor of Mangualde, who hosted the CNC delegation on its visit to the Municipality to discover and learn about its heritage, was also present on this visit; CNC members also visited the Palace of the Counts of Anadia and Pousada of Senhora do Castelo.
